Pinterest is a social media bookmarking website that allows you to “Pin” up visual representations of objects, people, places, and things. When you share someone else’s pin, it’s called a repin. If you have a group, they pin things together by topic onto various boards in your profile. Each board mimics a real-life pinboard. One can select images the website has or share the images you found already online. Pinterest can also be used as an App on your mobile device.
I was interested in exploring this technology tool, Pinterest, so I created my own account. I currently have four boards; Math, Science, Places to Go (travel) and Kids. As you can see, I’m just beginning to utilize and develop my Pinterest account. The photography of all the pins I have personally viewed have been, what appears to me, done by a professional. The rich color and detail of each visual keeps you attached to the website for longer periods of time than you ever thought. Once you start Pinterest, it will be hard for you to stop. This bookmarking website makes me think about working smarter, not harder. If someone has created or developed something that is fantastic, then share your findings. No sense in reinventing the wheel.
If you would love to know more, I found a brief two minute video put out by Pinterest to watch. Please click on the link below to enjoy in this visual tutorial about Pinterest. I have a feeling I will find you somewhere amongst the pin boards. Have fun “pinning”!
